Between July and September 2007, prosecutors in the case against the Holy Land Foundation released scores of exhibits that provide unprecedented insight into the dizzying web of connections tying together Islamic supremacist organizations in North America. Here is one of the key memorandums captured in the FBI raid:
An Explanatory Memorandum On the General Strategic Goal for the Muslim Brotherhood:
NEFA Senior Investigator Doug Farah has blogged extensively on this document. One key excerpt follows: "The process of settlement is a 'Civilization-Jihadist Process' with all the word means. The Ikhwan (Brotherhood members) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."
It goes on: "we are in a country which understands no language other than the language of the organizations, and one which does not respect or give weight to any group without effective, functional, and strong organizations." In this context, "the big challenge...is how to turn these seeds or 'scattered' elements into comprehensive, stable, 'settled' organizations that are connected with our Movement...and take orders from our guidance."
