“Enemies of Islam" Driven From Facebook

FACEBOOK GROUPS have launched a successful campaign to ban what they call "enemies" from the social network by reporting them to the site's administrators. Their main targets are human rights advocates, atheists, and those accused of being "anti-Islam" or simply "too liberal".

Lists of targets are compiled on Facebook itself, in groups like "Pesticide" and "The cleansing bureau". Hundreds of Facebook users are on the lists - especially if they're gay or women who refuse to wear the veil.

The group administrator asks members to alert the Facebook admin to the targets' accounts by signalling them as "fake profiles". And it's working. Hundreds of users, most of them from Tunisia but also elsewhere, have seen their accounts disappear.

That's because if a large enough number of people signal a profile, then it is deleted automatically, without human verification. Facebook, which is currently facing huge criticism for privacy issues, confirmed that the automatic system was in place, after an employee of the American company tested it.

Sarah Ben Hamad works in tourism and writes a blog. Her Facebook account has been targeted several times by deactivation groups.

The people on these lists are often bloggers and intellectuals who are accused of being atheist, pro-Zionist, anti-Muslim activists and homosexual. People of Berber origin are also targeted. The groups are calling for Tunisia and the Maghreb to be 100% Arab and 100% Muslim.

I don't know who's behind these groups; you can't see who the administrator is. I think it's probably easily influenced kids who've got nothing better to do. I'd like to know why people follow their advice without knowing who the people they're targeting are. Is it really a religious fantasy or just an irrational hatred? And why doesn't Facebook notice the unusually high amount of requests coming from them and do something about it?"

Who’s behind the “deactivation groups”

There are a number of hypotheses concerning who might be behind the groups. At first glance it seems to be Islamic fundamentalists. According to new technology blog ReadWriteWeb, however, the Tunisian government may have got involved in a bid to disrupt websites it is not comfortable with.

Complain to FACEBOOK at abuse@facebook.com - send them an email and complain about the mass 'reporting' done by isl@mist. Tell FB about RevolutionMusl@ms Blog and how they are organized and working in mass to silence us and have our FB accounts deleted.

First of all, you need to give them the reference to the external website (out on the net) that has these "hit lists" ... here they are ...

Then you need to point out that some of these that they have on their "hit lists" are prominent speakers that speak in different places (sometimes around the world), and they are also authors of well-received books and/or producers of acclaimed videos.

We've got at least three or four authors (that I know of) on that list. There's Brigitte Gabriel, and Dr. Thomas Ahmed and then Brooks William Kelley (and there might be more). And with Geert Wilders, he's a official from Holland and is a serious individual involved in the government over there. To dismiss these kinds of people is ridiculous and nothing short of absolute censorship.

Then you can show from that list, how many have already been deleted, just from "being on the list" and being part of an "organized campaign" against them -- only from the standpoint of saying something that others did not like to hear.

I'm sure that you're all very aware of how facebook is being used by the authorities as "evidence" in the trials of our brothers and sisters. This is how they access it. By coming up with a profile and adding unsuspecting contacts. I would rather be pro-active. This is a small percentage of the moles out there, but these are some of the worst, and many if not all of the jawa people are included in this list.

Facebook Jihad

ON A WEB SITE called Revolution Muslim, a woman named Talibah wrote the following post. Someone sent this to me saying these are the people who got Geert Wilders' page removed from Facebook.

Apparently they've got a kind of "Facebook Jihad" going on. They select specific people and block them (which must raise flags on Facebook's computer) and also to complain about something on the page. If enough people do it, I guess Facebook removes the page.

I'm posting this here because sometimes Revolution Muslim will remove a post after everybody sees it. Anyway, here is the post from RevolutionMuslim.com:

On facebook there are many trolls. I posted about one of them some time back. I like checking back to see if they still exist and so on. Well, this one has changed his name, as well as his profile. He was listed as Komrad Vinnieovich. He changed his name, and his profile info. He now calls himself Abdul Maajid. He has managed to gather a few Muslim friends. It just seems to me that if he wants to be friends with Muslims, why not simply revert?

He’s managed to garner a few Muslims on his list. PLEASE BE AWARE. Make others aware - spread this list around, insha'allah more people will know, more people will complain.

His profile is below along with a number of others. I suggest that everyone complain (fake profile) and block him.

Please be aware that this list is not complete, due to the fact that I’m extremely busy at this time. I will be adding to it, and I have a request for help at the bottom of this post. Many of these people work with MPJ, a hate site. Everyone on the list is anti-Muslim. Some are worse than others.

I started circulating this list on facebook via private messages, but this really needs to be seen. I am happy to report that a few of them had their profiles deleted already, including the "Rusty" of MPJ - due to all of YOUR efforts, jazak'Allah Khair to all of you!
